NATCHEZ — Two suspects on the Adams County Sheriff’s Office’s Most Wanted List have been captured.
Chastity Renee Irving, 29, was captured in Abilene, Texas, and was returned to the Adams County Jail on Tuesday.
“Irving was a participant in the Sixth Judicial District Drug Court and was sent to a treatment facility,” said Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten. “She left the facility and went on the run. That was back in April of 2019. Her information was entered into NCIC (National Crime Information Center database), and when Abilene saw that she was wanted, they contacted us to confirm, and we let them know we would transport her back here.”
He said he did not know how she wound up in the custody of Abilene police.
Derrick Marsaw, 42, of Natchez was featured as one of the county’s Most Wanted for allegedly failing to register as a sex offender. A warrant for his arrest was issued in February 2022.
Marsaw was tracked down by the U.S. Marshal Service on April 4 in Jackson, Tennessee.
“Arrangements are currently being made to have him transported back to Adams County,” Patten said.
“Irving was featured twice on our Most Wanted List, and here we are five years later, bringing her back into custody. It just shows that if you go on the run, the law will catch up with you,” Patten said.
