NATCHEZ — A Natchez man drove his truck approximately 400 feet off the road Wednesday night and then dropped 150 feet down a gully in the 700 block of Liberty Road.
Roy Ray III, 23, called Adams County E-911 dispatchers at approximately 8:27 p.m. to report the accident and request an ambulance. Ray was driving a 2007 red Dodge Caliber SUV.
Dispatchers called off the response by an ambulance when Ray was discovered to be walking around and uninjured at the scene. Ray is alive and well and in the Adams County Jail Thursday morning, reports Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten.
Adams County Sheriff’s deputies discovered Ray had arrest warrants from federal parole officers and the Mississippi Department of Corrections. The U.S. Marshal Service also had an active warrant for his arrest for parole violations. Ray is expected to be held until he is extradited on those warrants.
