A graveside service for Eva Lois Young, 90, of Natchez, who died peacefully at Adams County Nursing Center surrounded by family, will be on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at 2 pm. at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Brother Jeremy Howington officiating the service under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Eva was born in Brookhaven, MS on Dec. 2, 1933, to Wadie and Martin Pennington and was the second child of six children. She was raised in Lincoln County and attended Fair River School. She moved to Natchez with her husband, Charles Milton Young Sr. in 1950.
She worked for 33 years as a technician in the obstetric unit at Jefferson Davis Hospital. She loved shopping at thrift stores and garage sells and had a passion for collecting porcelain and antique baby dolls.
She married Charles Milton Young Sr. on July 25, 1950, and was married for 63 years.
She loved the Lord and was a member of Pentecostals of the Miss Lou in Ferriday, LA until age and illnesses prevented her from attending.
Eva was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Milton Young Sr.; her mother, Wadie Lee Pennington; father, James Martin Pennington; sister, Earlene Jackson; brother, James H. Pennington; sister, Nita Chapman, and niece, Alice Wiggins.
She is survived by her brothers, Billy Pennington and Kenny Pennington; sons, Charles Milton Young Jr. and wife, Carrie of Monticello, MS; Dudley “Dusty” Young and wife, Paula of Ponchatoula, LA, and Greg Young of McComb, MS; daughter, Cheryl Bonita Kaiser and husband, William Andrew “Andy” Sr. of Natchez, MS; eleven grandchildren, Charles Milton “Bubba” Young III and wife, Shannon, Michael Young and wife, Mary, Christopher Young and wife, Shauntell, Natalee Barbier and husband, Jay, Dustin Young and wife, Nicole, Billy Young Jr. and wife, Katie, Tina Welsh and husband, Richard, Ashley Blackwell and husband, Rodney, Andrew Kaiser and wife, Carey, Katherine Taylor and husband, Fred Wallace IV, and Leigh Presnell and husband, Chris, and a whole host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Bubba Young, Michael Young, Christopher Young, Dustin Young, Billy Young, and Andrew Kaiser.
