NATCHEZ – Services for Bobby Frank Harper, 91, of Natchez who died peacefully after a brief illness on Saturday, March 30, 2024, in Natchez will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Laird Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1 until 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Laird Funeral Home.

Bobby was born in Greenwood, MS on Aug. 8, 1932, the son of Frank and Elsie Harper.

He grew up in Greenwood, MS, and married his high school sweetheart in 1952. He served in the United States Navy being Honorably discharged in 1953.

Bobby and his wife, Carolyn moved to Natchez in 1968 having relocated with South Central Bell where he retired after 30 years of service as the District Manager of Transmission in the Natchez district.

Bobby served the Lord as a Deacon at Stanton Baptist Church for more than four decades. He was an avid sportsman. He, Carolyn, and the children enjoyed time spent outdoors camping, hunting, and fishing.  He was awarded 50 Years of Service as a Master Mason in Good Standing in November of 2016.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Rick Harper; his daughter, Diane Harper; his beloved sister-in-law, Janice Flemming and her husband, Forrest; and his brother-in-law, Charles Crull.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 71 years, Carolyn Harper of Natchez, MS; son, Noland, and wife, Mary of Natchez, MS; daughter, Meredith Poissot of Denham Springs, LA; eight grandchildren, Diane Blanton and her husband, Lee of Natchez, MS, Lauren Harper Vidalia, LA, Will Harper of Natchez, MS, and  Katelyn, Alex, and Evan Faust and Bap and Claire Poissot of Denham Springs, LA; and six great-grandchildren, Doug, Ally, Kyle, and Caroline Blanton or Natchez, MS; and Lane Pirkey and Case Fudickar of Vidalia, LA.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Senior Men’s Class at Stanton Baptist Church; grandsons, Evan Faust and Will Harper, Jack Goss, Terrell Foster, and Rev. Benji Pyeatt.

Pallbearers will be Purvis Wilson, Randy Babb, Lee Blanton, Doug Banton, Alex Faust, and Andon Carter.
