VICKSBURG — Coleman Carter was one of the few bright spots for Adams County Christian School’s varsity baseball team as the Rebels fell to the St. Aloysius High School Flashes 16-3 last Tuesday night in the MAIS District 4-5A opener for both teams.
Carter hit a solo home run for ACCS in the top of the second inning. However, that was one of just three base hits the Rebels had as a team. Losing pitcher Colton Rabb got the start and gave up eight runs, four of them earned, in just one-plus innings on the mound.
“Lack of focus and lack of hustle tonight is what got us beat,” Rebels head coach Jake Winston said. “As a team, we have to respond in a positive way. I challenged them tonight, in the post-game meeting, to lock in and grind the rest of the year and leave it all on the field every single day. Tomorrow is a new day, so we will see how we can respond as a team.”
ACCS (1-10, 0-1) plays host to St. Aloysius on Friday for a District 4-5A varsity doubleheader at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
