NATCHEZ — The Longwood Music Festival, which was scheduled for Nov. 2, 2024, has been cancelled, said its organizer Lou Ellen Stout.
This year would have been the 10th for the festival, which drew hundreds of locals and tourists to the all-day event, which featured a variety of live music, food and family friendly activities, all on the grounds of historic Longwood.
“I am very heartbroken about it,” Stout said.
However, Stout said she has been overwhelmed by the huge outpouring of support on social media for the festival, as well as those who have reached out to her to ask that she keep it going.
“I am talking to people right now about doing it someplace else,” Stout said.
Christy Williams, executive director of the Pilgrimage Garden Club, which owns Longwood and has hosted the music festival in the past at its historic home, said the PGC’s board of directors said they would like to see it held “at a different time of year, instead of in the fall right after the balloon festival.”
Williams said the garden club appreciates Stout and her committee and the amazing work she has done in the past with the festival.
