NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Bobbie Jean Myles Mitchell, 74, of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Friday, March 1, 2024, in Natchez will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Cleveland Hunt officiating.

Burial will follow at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, from 6 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue on Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Bobbie was born Aug. 25, 1949, in Natchez, the daughter of Betty Jean Hawkins and Joseph Myles. She was educated in the Natchez Public School District. Mrs. Mitchell was a retired sales associate and door greeter. Bobbie loved gardening and cooking.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Patricia Ann Mitchell and Rachel D. Mitchell, and brothers, Willie Myles and Jimmie Perry.

Bobbie leaves to cherish her memories: husband, Henry Mitchell; sons, Melvin Myles (Marie), Cordell Myles, Patrick  Williams, Patrick Armsted; godson, Michael Miller; daughters, Tara Mitchell, Shirley Mitchell-Bailey, Alisha Shepherd, Tosha Crawford, Sharonica Myles and Karen Brown; brothers, Joseph Miles (Clara), Herman Miles, Charles Miles (Janice) and Nathaniel Miles (Brenda); sisters, Janice Myles, Lavone Belton, Karen Mahyoub (Fadhl); 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives.
