NATCHEZ — Adams County Sheriff’s Deputies have recovered a vehicle stolen early this morning.
The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro was reported stolen at approximately 3 p.m. on Wednesday by the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office.
“Our deputies were patrolling Government Fleet Road and found it abandoned at 2:57 a.m. this morning,” said Travis Patten, Adams County Sheriff.
The damage on the vehicle was done before it was stolen, Patten said.
“That’s how we knew it was the vehicle stolen out of Claiborne County,” he said. “This vehicle was not stolen as a part of a ring. It was stolen from an individual. How it ended up in Natchez, we are unsure.”
Sheriff’s deputies have recovered several stolen vehicles recently.
“We obviously have some issues to address with car thieves in our area. If they haven’t learned from the last three arrests we made on car thieves, they will learn soon because we will be making more arrests,” the sheriff said.
