NATCHEZ — Funeral services for George W. Marshall, Jr., 59, who passed away on Feb. 18, 2024, at his residence in Chicago, IL, will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Emmanuel Church of God in Christ, Natchez, MS at 2 p.m. with Supt. Odell Franklin officiating under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home Natchez, MS and Marshall Funeral Home Biloxi, MS.  Burial will follow at Rehoboth COGIC Cemetery in Sibley, MS.

Visitation will be on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Natchez from 6 until 8 p.m. and on Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 1 p.m. until service time at Emmanuel Church of God in Christ.

George passed away on Feb. 18, in Chicago, Ill. He was born and raised in Natchez, MS before moving to Chicago. He graduated from North Natchez High School in 1983. He enjoyed playing basketball and watching the Dallas Cowboys.

George was preceded in death by his brother, Alvin; his maternal grandparents, Neal and Annie Bailey and paternal grandparents, Earnest and Dillie Gunn Marshall; one grandson, Christopher Keith Marques Marshall II, and numerous aunts, and uncles.

George leaves to cherish his memories, five children, Christopher and his wife, Marjory, Amanda and her husband, Rev. Aaron, Christina, John, and Tarena; his parents, George W. Marshall Sr. and Linda Bailey Marshall; three siblings, Sharon, Calvin, and Debra; ten grandchildren, Jaden, Ben, Daylah, Levi, John Jr., Laurin, Hartlyn, Aaron, Taylor, and Cam; a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
