NATCHEZ — Gerald Boelte, 77, died Thursday night after a side-by-side off-road vehicle accident on his property.

Boelte and his wife Hedy moved to the Natchez area after Hurricane Katrina from Pearlington. Boelte spent his early life in the oil and gas exploration business and has since developed and operated a number of business interest in a variety of industries, including Big River Farms Inc., of which he was president.
