WATERPROOF – Funeral services for Gertrude Crockett Tolson, 96, of Waterproof, LA will be held Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, at 11 a.m. from Myrtle Grove Baptist Church in Waterproof with Dr. Jarrod Bottley officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the service time. Burial will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery in Waterproof.
Mrs. Tolson, daughter of Alonzo Crockett, and Ardich Edwards, was born in Waterproof and died at her residence. She was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death are her parents and two sons, Edward Tolson and Linester Crockett.

She is survived by her children, Charlie E. Baker and his wife, Dora of Douglasville, GA; Hersey Hill and his wife, Mattie of Blue Island, IL; Darrien Crockett and his wife, Daphne of Bartlett, IL; Richard Hill and his wife, Lillie of Chicago, IL; and Brenda Hill Doty of Chicago, IL. Also, her siblings, Noah Crockett of Gonzales, LA; Lamon Crockett of New Orleans, LA; Anniebelle Edwards of Waterproof. In addition to a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
