SICILY ISLAND – Graveside services for Joy Terrill Decker, 90, of Ferriday, LA will be held at Highland Park Cemetery in Sicily Island on Monday, Jan. 22, 2024, at 1 p.m. with Bro. Mark Richardson and Bro. James Chaffin officiating under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Joy was born on Monday, April 3, 1933, in Van Buren, AR, and passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, at her residence surrounded by loved ones. She would do anything for anyone and was always there for you. She was “Mama” to everyone and raised them as her own. Joy loved all of her children and grandchildren the same. She was the glue to the family and always kept the peace.
She is reunited with her husband, James Floyd Decker; her parents, McKinley Terrill and Beadie Bennett Terrill; siblings, Mildred Terrill, Charles Terrill, Syble Terrill, Dean Lowery, and Janie Freeman.
Those left behind to cherish Joy’s memories are son, Tommy Decker and his wife, Susan of Natchez, MS; daughters, Brenda Coates of Monticello, MS and Sandy Decker of Ferriday, LA; son, John Decker of Ferriday, LA; and daughter, Linda Holley and her husband, Heath of Natchez, MS; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Those honoring Joy as pallbearers are BJ Newman, Heath Holley, Josh Johnston, Danny Holley, Jamie Decker, and Johnny Decker.
The family will receive friends at Young’s Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until noon, Monday, Jan. 22, 2024.
