FERRIDAY, La. — A Ferriday woman faces an attempted murder charge for allegedly stabbing a man in the abdomen, leaving him in critical condition, Ferriday Police Chief Sam King said.
Theresa Hill, 56, of Ferriday, was booked in the Concordia Parish Jail Thursday with charges of attempted second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon or dangerous instrument. She is currently held without bond.
Ferriday police responded to Trinity Medical Center at approximately 10 p.m. Thursday and made contact with the victim, who told them what happened.
King said the two knew each other and had consumed a lot of alcohol. They had gotten into a verbal disagreement that turned violent, he said.
“He was rushed to an Alexandria hospital for emergency surgery for a deep cut to the lower abdomen,” he said. “As of (Thursday night) he was in critical condition.”
Updated details of the victim’s condition were not available on Friday.
