NATCHEZ — Jean William Rushing, 88, of Natchez, passed away on December 10, 2023, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Meadville.

Jean, “J.W.” as he was fondly known, was born on January 29, 1935, in Winnsboro, Louisiana, to Hulon Rushing and Mable Simpson Rushing.

Jean is preceded in death by his parents, Hulon and Mable Rushing; one sister, Reada Walters; and three brothers, Clyde Rushing.

Jean was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather; he will be greatly missed.

Jean, affectionately known as “J. W.”, leaves to cherish his memories loving and devoted wife, Sharon L. Washburn Rushing; seven children, Billy Adams, Cheryl Summers and husband DeWayne, Lisa Bozeman, Wendell Rushing, Christine Massey and husband Billy, Sonny Lewis and Deborah Santoro; three sisters, Willie Mae Rankin, Alice Havard and Inez Cupstid; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
