NATCHEZ – Around 200 runners, walkers and casual strollers raced through downtown Natchez for Wardos Poboys’ second annual Rouxdolph Roll run on Saturday, expanding scholarship offerings to students throughout Adams County and Concordia Parish this year.

Some runners dressed for the occasion with antlers and elf ears, and one lady in an inflatable costume looked like she was riding on a reindeer when she took off down Broadway Street.

Tom Graning and his siblings and co-owners hosted the first Rouxdolph Roll race in 2022 to help fund the Ward Graning Memorial Scholarship Fund at Cathedral School. The scholarship and the restaurant are named in honor of Ward Graning, who passed away in June 2019. He was an exceptional athlete and a respected member of the community.

Race proceeds this year benefit students from Adams County Christian School, Natchez High School and Concordia Parish, as well as Cathedral School, Graning said. “The race helps us fund the scholarships, which are $1,000 each.”
