Funeral services for Ruthie Mae Scott Green, of Ferriday, LA, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, at Word of Faith Ambassador Outreach, with Bishop Justin Conner officiating.
Burial will follow at St. James B.C. cemetery, under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m., Friday, in the chapel at the funeral home.
On July 12, 1929, a baby girl was born to Prince and Ellen Mackey in Archie, Louisiana. They named her Ruthie Mae Mackey. She graduated from Sevier High Rosenwald in 1950.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Prince and Ellan Mackey; her husbands, Emanual Scott and James Green, Sr.; her son, Ronald “Rickey” Scott; three brothers, Charlie Mackey, James Mackey, Larry Mackey, and two sisters, Dorothy Blade and Irma Anderson.
At her residence, on Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, at 94 years of age, God opened wide the pearly gates of Heaven and sent His angels to greet her into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She leaves in God’s care a son, Donel Ray Scott (Pat); two daughters, Brenda Carter-Harris (Hymes) and Connie Warner (Willie); eight bonus children, Albert Green (Brenda), James Green II (Beverly), Edward Green, Kathy Thornton, Sherry Richardson, Shirley Mae Crittendon, Mattie Hutchins, Deborah Simmons; four sisters, Vera Ray, Vernestince McMillon, Classie Smith and Eliza Irving; one brother, Robert Mackey (Jean); two goddaughters, Alethea Fisher and Shelia Taylor; 42 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 30 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
