NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Betty Lou Mercer Smith, 74, of Natchez, who passed away on Nov. 22, 2023, will be held on Monday, Nov. 27, 2023, at the Washington United Methodist Church in Natchez at 11 a.m. with Rev. Susan Hood officiating under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Wintergreen Cemetery in Port Gibson.

Visitation services will be held at the Washington United Methodist Church in Natchez on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023, from 3 until 5 p.m., and on Monday, Nov. 27, 2023, from 10 a.m. until the service time.

Betty was born on June 4, 1949, in Natchez, MS, to Robert Alton Mercer and Lillian Ileana Neal Mercer. She was a member of the Washington United Methodist Church in Natchez.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Betty leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 52 years Charles Ray Smith; daughter Amanda Kyzar with children, Charles Christopher Kyzar and Darlene, Kathryn Elizabeth Kelp, Karley Michelle Strebeck, and husband, Tate Strebeck; son, Samuel Robert Smith and wife, Brandi Smith and their daughter, Brooke Mechelle Lindsey, and husband, Hunter Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Payton Marie Kelp, Trevor James Kelp, Harper Ileana Strebeck, Rosalyn Wood; brothers and sisters, Kenneth Mercer and wife, Angela Mercer, Raymond Alton Mercer, Nancy Ann Mercer, Gloria Priest and husband, Randy Priest, and numerous nieces, nephews, and family.
