NATCHEZ — The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating Gregory Hunt, 35, of Meadville, who is sought for aggravated domestic violence and sexual battery.
Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said on Tuesday at 10:45 p.m. his deputies were called to Merit Health Natchez about a victim who had allegedly been raped.
“Hunt is running, and he is dangerous,” Patten said.
Once at the hospital, deputies soon discovered the victim is the same person who the Natchez Police Department had reported as missing earlier Tuesday.
The victim told deputies while she was at work Tuesday one of her employees came to tell her someone was outside who wanted to see her.
She said once outside, she discovered the person requesting to see her was her estranged ex-boyfriend. The victim told deputies the man’s name was Gregory Hunt and that the two had been apart for more than a year and a half.
She reported to deputies that Hunt made threats toward her children before dragging her across his body and into his vehicle through the driver’s side. She said he then drove her out to a gravel road off Highway U.S. 84 in Adams County, where she alleges he parked on the side of the unlit gravel road, dragged her out of the vehicle and began beating her and raped her on the ground.
The victim alleges after the assault, Hunt put her back in his vehicle and began driving back toward Natchez before abruptly pulling over under the Natchez Trace bridge overpass on U.S. 84 and tossed her out of the vehicle, then sped off.
She told deputies she walked to a nearby gas station, where she called for a ride and was taken to Merit Health Natchez.
The victim suffered injuries in the form of fractured bones in her face, along with scratches and bruises to her face, hands and other places on her body.
The sheriff said Hunt is thought to be driving a black 2005 Chrysler 300 with the Mississippi personalized license plate number “Hunt 3.”
“We are asking anyone who knows of his whereabouts to contact the Adams County Sheriff’s Office at 601-442-2752 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-442-5001,” the sheriff said.
