VIDALIA, La. — The electrical power blinked out in most of Concordia Parish during the night Monday and again in Vidalia on Tuesday morning, affecting thousands of utility customers.
Vidalia mayor Buz Craft said a line had “tripped out” causing the outage.
“They’re going to check it or try to reroute (the power),” he said.
The first outage affecting the parish occurred sometime around 11:30 p.m. Monday and lasted roughly 30 to 45 minutes, he said.
“Concordia Parish was completely out,” he said.
The power went out again just after 8 a.m. Tuesday in parts of Vidalia and Ferriday, affecting more than 1,800 utility customers.
As of 8:30 p.m., electrical power had not been restored.
“I encourage everyone to follow our Facebook (for live updates),” Craft said.
