WOODVILLE – William Thomas Carter, 72, of Woodville, MS, passed away at home on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023. He was born on June 30, 1951, in Natchez, MS, to the late I.A. and Mary Elizabeth Carter.
Visitation will be Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023, at Pioneer Baptist Church from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m. with Rev. Warren Whitaker, III officiating. Interment will be at Netterville Cemetery. Services under the direction of Newman Funeral Home.
Thomas was an avid hunter and loved to socialize at the hunting camp. He loved woodwork and tractor work. He was a wonderful role model for his grandchildren sharing his wealth of knowledge to accomplish all sorts of projects. He loved his church family and all his friends in the community. He was married to the love of his life for 50 years, enjoying all their travels and raising their family.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Carter; daughter, Mystic Smith; son-in-law, Charles Lessley Smith; brothers, Kay F. Carter and Alex Boyd Carter; grandchildren, Charles Thomas Smith, Brady Smith, David Smith, Carter Scott, and Benjamin Rowan Barr.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Christy Carter; and one brother, Ikey Carter.
