NATCHEZ — Ferriday High School announced via social media on June 22 a ring ceremony for the Ferriday High School football team scheduled for July 17 has been postponed.

“When the plans were made, we were anticipating that Gov. John Bel Edwards was going to announce we were going to go into Phase 3. However, we remain in Phase 2,” said Kimberly Jackson, principal of Ferriday High School.

Jackson said the ring ceremony would be scheduled when Edwards announces that Louisiana is in Phase 3.

The ring ceremony is to commemorate the Ferriday High School Trojans win in the Louisiana High School Athletics Association Class 2A state championship game over Many High School on Dec. 13, 2019. Ferriday won 56-17 over Many to claim the LHSAA Class 2A state title.
