Wilson announces bid for Ward 6

NATCHEZ — Queen Ella Wilson recently announced her candidacy for alderwoman ward 6 Natchez.

“I am running because I want to see our city thrive toward economic growth and development,” Wilson said. “My dedication, accountability and hard work prove my commitment to serve my community.”

Wilson said she is a life time native of Natchez for 58 year. “I am married to Lee A. Wilson of Natchez for 27 years and together we have five children along with 14 grandchildren,” Wilson said. “As a business owner of 16 years; my experience has gained a strong knowledge of expressing the concerns for our local citizens.” Wilson outlined her relevant work experience:

*10- years at Glenburney Nursing Home as a cook

*21- years as a Dietary Supervisor at Jefferson County Nursing Home

*11- years for the City of Natchez, Natchez Police Department

*17- years to present as a caterer for The Natchez Convention Center

*16- years as owner of Southern Style Restaurant & Bar

*Currently serve as Vice-President of the Natchez Business Civic League

“If elected, I want to improve tax laws to support small businesses, implement programs to enhance learning skills for employment and entrepreneurship; partner with public works to express concerns of the City of Natchez, to hold monthly meetings for Ward 6 citizens and help improve recreation for our community,” Wilson said. “I am asking for your support as I seek election for Alderwoman Ward 6 on June 2.
