We need your help to help shape the next four years of Natchez and the surrounding area.
In conjunction with The Bluff City Post, The Natchez Democrat will host an online video Mayoral Candidates Q&A, featuring Democratic Party mayoral candidates Tony Fields and Dan Gibson.
During the event, which will be recorded and posted in an unedited fashion on The Democrat’s website on May 26, Fields and Gibson will answer questions about their plans to lead the city for the next four years.
That is where your help comes in.
We need you to submit questions you think need to be asked for local voters to make informed and reasoned decisions at the ballot box.
Readers may submit questions to be considered for inclusion in the Q&A session by emailing them to newsroom@natchezdemocrat.com with “Candidate questions” in the subject line. The deadline to submit emailed questions is no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, May 22.
Questions may also be mailed via U.S. Postal Service to The Natchez Democrat/Mayoral Questions, P.O. Box 1447, Natchez, MS 39121-1447 and received by The Democrat by noon on Friday, May 22.
Few rights are as important as the right to vote.
Seventeen days remain before voters go to the polls to vote in the June 2 Primary to select between Gibson and Fields to be the Democratic nominee for Natchez mayor.
Even as the world focuses much of its attention on COVID-19, The Democrat understands how vital the upcoming municipal elections are to the future of Natchez and the surrounding area.
That is why The Natchez Democrat takes its responsibility seriously to provide local voters with the knowledge necessary to help them make informed decisions when they go to the ballot box.
Help us help voters by submitting your questions to the mayoral candidates today.
