NATCHEZ — The Adams County Coroner announced three COVID-19 deaths Monday.
A 50-year-old white female died at 3:26 p.m. Monday at Merit Health, said James Lee, Adams County coroner.
“My deepest condolences!” Lee said.
Lee also reported the death of an 87-year-old white male who died 12:38 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at a long-term care facility in Adams County.
“Godspeed to this family,” Lee said of the long-term care facility victim.
And on Monday, Lee reported the death of an 88-year-old female of Wilkinson County, who died April 18 at Merit Health Natchez.
“The case was reported today (Monday) to the coroner’s office for certification,” Lee said. “She was pronounced dead by Dr. Christopher Martin, MD, at 3:26 p.m. on the date given.”
Lee said the victim’s husband died of COVID-19 one week earlier than her.
“My condolences to this family for their awful losses,” Lee said. “We continue to learn more about this virus but it is a day-to-day operation. There are people who are asymptomatic or showing no signs of the virus but are infected. Also, there are people who may have tested negative but could later show signs of the virus. I have one message for us all: This virus is real and you should make an concerted effort to protect yourself.”
