Johnnie Lynn Anders charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Adams County Circuit Court Cases

Tuesday, March 3:

Torrance Knowles pleaded guilty to felony shoplifting of a value of more than $1,000.00 but less than $5,000.00 (Count I), as a Non-habitual in Judge Blackwell’s court. Sentenced to five years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with full credit for time served, and the remaining balance suspended for placement in the Adams County Intervention Court program. The suspended time is conditioned upon the defendant’s successful completion of all terms of the Adams County Intervention Court program (to which he has already been accepted), his exhibition of good behavior, and that he violates no laws for the period that he is in compliance and fully participating in the Adams Count Intervention Court program. Must pay restitution to Belk, Inc. in the mound of $1,181.22, and all court costs and fees, including a $200.00 prosecution fee, which are to be paid to the Adams County Circuit Clerk and shall be paid in full prior to his graduation from the Adams Count Intervention program.

Monday, March 2:

Karen Smith A/K/A Karen Calvin pleaded guilty to felony shoplifting in Judge Blackwell’s court. For good cause, the court withheld acceptance of the defendant’s guilty plea, pending successful completion of the following conditions: (1) Payment of restitution to Belk, Inc., in the amount of $735.00, to be paid in full no later than Dec. 31, 2020; (2) Payment of all court costs and fees, including a $200.00 prosecution fee, and a fine of $1,000.00. All amounts are to be paid in full no later than Dec. 31, 2020; (3) the defendant’s good behavior and that she violates no laws for a period of up to three years; (4) That the defendant truthfully testify against her co-defendant, Terrance Knowles, at his trail.
