ACCS baseball sweeps Delta Charter School

NATCHEZ — The Adams County Christian School Rebels baseball team played two games against the Delta Charter School Storm on Tuesday night.
The Rebels won both of the games over the Storm.
ACCS won 4-3 over Delta Charter in the second game.
The Storm led 3-0 going into the bottom of the second inning. The Storm scored two runs in the first inning via walks. In the second inning, Cole McGivaren hit a sacrifice fly to the Rebels center fielder Dylan LaPrairie for the third run for Delta Charter.
Connor Aplin hit a double to left field in the bottom of the fourth with the game tied at three. Matthew Petty scored and the Rebels took a 4-3 lead into the top of the fifth inning.
Tripp Cotten came into the game in the top of the second inning. He pitched three innings and struck out two batters. Cotten gave up one hit.
The Rebels ended the second game with a double play and held the Storm scoreless over three innings.
Game 1
Adams County won 5-4 in the first game on a walk-off error over Delta Charter.
Cody Brown hit a ground ball toward Delta Charter’s shortstop Eli Brown. Eli Brown threw the ball away and Preston Fuller scored the winning run for the Rebels.
Aplin was the winning pitcher for the Rebels. He pitched four and a third innings, struck out two batters and gave up six hits.
Rhet McDonald held the Storm scoreless over one and two-thirds innings pitched.
Storm (2-7) will host Bolton High School at 6 p.m. Thursday in hopes of ending their two-game losing streak.
Adams County (4-2) will have six days off before their next game at 6:30 p.m. March 16 against Amite School Center.
