Dunleith’s general manager shed light on plans for the historic mansion and bed and breakfast during the Rotary Club of Natchez meeting on Wednesday.

The future for the property looks bright after nearly a year of being in limbo as the property was for sale.

The new owners, the J Collection of New Orleans, are giving the historic structure a good sprucing up before they re-open the facility as a bed and breakfast and event venue with the restaurant and pub as it was before.

The good news, too, is that many of the former employees will be brought back.

Plans are in the works, too, to make the property an event venue.

And, the owners are searching for an executive chef to create a signature style for the restaurant and for weddings and events held on the grounds.

We are happy that the new owners plan to retain many of the former employees and the good things about Dunleith and are working to improve it with many enhancements.

The owners are taking their time to get things right before re-opening and that is just fine with us.

We are sure it will be worth the wait when they finally get Dunleith back in operation.
