DALLAS—  Services for Sylvester “Mike” Pernell, 64, of Dallas, who died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, in Dallas, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Grove Hill Funeral Home in Dallas.
Sylvester was born Feb. 18, 1955, in Natchez, the son of Eddie and Luader Pernell.
He retired from the Iron Worker Union in Dallas.
Sylvester was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Eddie Pernell Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Guice-Pernell; his children and grandchildren; seven siblings, Claudine Syndor, Claudette Sanders, Lawrence Pernell, all of Sacramento, California, Robert Pernell and Sadie Jones of Natchez, and the Rev. James “Bosshog” Pernell of Jacksonville, Florida; his in-laws, the Guice family of Fayette; and other relatives and friends.
