Natchez Krewe of Phoenix announces its 2020 royal court:

Rex XXXVIII — Joe Stedman

Joe Stedman is a native and lifelong resident of Natchez.  He attended Natchez High School and the University of Southern Mississippi where he studied Business Administration and Marketing. Joe served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant.

He began his career as self-employed real estate broker and developer in 1972 and continues to be active in the real estate business today. He has served in a number of positions in the Natchez Board of Realtors, the Mississippi Association of Realtors, and the Mississippi Chapter of the Realtors Land Institute. He holds the national designations of Certified Residential Broker and Accredited Land Consultant.  He has been an instructor for the Mississippi Realtors Institute, and has served two terms as a Commissioner of the Mississippi Real Estate Commission.Joe has been the recipient of Realtor of the Year awards from the Natchez Board of Realtors and the Mississippi Realtors Land Institute. Joe was inducted into the Mississippi Realtor’s Hall of Fame in 2015, and elivated Realtor Emeritus status the same year.

He is married to the former Anna Sue Hood, Rosalie XXXV, from Crystal Springs, MS.  They have one daughter Stacy who is married to Murray Holloway, and three beautiful granddaughters, Molly, Abby and Emily.

Rosalie XXXVIII — Charlotte Freund Callon Brent

Charlotte is the daughter of Joe and Bonnie Freund and has one daughter, Lynette Callon Bubrig who is married to Dr. Darryl Bubrig and two grandchildren, Kennedy Bubrig and Brady Bubrig.

Charlotte attended Natchez Adams High School and graduated from the University of Mississippi in Oxford.  She currently is a Petroleum Landman specializing in Due Diligence.

She is a member of the Pilgrimage Garden club, Krewe of Phoenix, Krewe of Krazies and Mississippi Association of Petroleum Landmen, she served as a member of the Board of Directors.

Charlotte and her partner, Eric West have recently returned to their home town and been active in support of the Pilgrimage Garden Club, Natchez Music Festival and the Food and Wine Festival.

Charlotte believes there are many charitable organizations that are worthy of contributions but is particularly interested in the support of the John S. Callon scholarship, which was created by Rex I, John S. Callon, her daughter’s Great  Uncle. She also supports the Animal Rescue League as she has witnessed that all animals who are given a second chance appreciates the opportunity to have a good life.

Duke Great Sun — Hampton Roane

Hampton is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Oliver of Monroe, Louisiana, and Mr. Stuart Roane of Chase, Louisiana. A graduate of Louisiana Tech, he is a current CPA candidate after earning an accounting degree in 2016. He recently joined the Silas Simmons team this year with their recent expansion into the Monroe area.

He volunteers with the Louisiana Tech Alumni Association and the College of Business outreach events.

Having just moved back to the Monroe area, he is involved with the Northeast Louisiana Young Professionals and the Ouchita Parish Ambassador program with a goal to be involved in local politics in the near future.

Duchess La Glorieuse — Lara Biglane

Lara Biglane was born and raised in Natchez where she attended Cathedral High School. She attended Louisiana State University where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She graduated from LSU in finance with a minor in energy. Before moving back to Natchez, Lara worked in finance while residing in the Los Angeles area. She currently works at United Mississippi Bank.

She reigned as the Pilgrimage Garden Club Queen in 2014. She is still an active member in the PGC organization and other community service organizations.

In her spare time, Lara enjoys snow skiing, spending time at the beach, and cheering on her beloved Tigers in Death Valley. She is the daughter of Denton Biglane and Tanya Biglane. She is the granddaughter of James and Nancy Biglane along with William and Randy Swindle.

Duke of Versailles — Bubba McCabe

Bubba McCabe is a native of Greenwood and a graduate of Pillow Academy. He attended college at The University of Mississippi in Oxford. While in college, he earned a bachelor’s degree in risk management and insurance and was a member of the Ole Miss Chapter of The Risk Management Society. Bubba currently serves as assistant vice president for Delta Bank in Natchez.

Bubba is a graduate of the Leadership Natchez Class of 2013. He is a member of the Natchez Rotary Club, Natchez Young Professionals, Santa Claus Committee, Natchez Home Builder’s Association, and is a lifetime member of the Ole Miss Alumni Association; along with volunteering with local organizations such as the Natchez Festival of Music, Music at the Mounds, and Y’all Means All Natchez. Bubba is a singer/songwriter, musician and multi-instrumentalist that plays locally and has toured with various bands; playing original music along with popular artists’ music. He currently plays in The B3 and can be seen locally with Big Drew & The Bubbadelic. He is an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints, Ole Miss Rebels, Atlanta Braves, and the Chicago Cubs.

Bubba is the son of the late James Henry McCabe III and Rebecca Jones McCabe of Greenwood. Bubba is married to Katie Johnson McCabe and they currently reside in Natchez. When Bubba is not on stage or in the bank; he and his wife enjoy going to see live music and road-tripping the US and world.

Duchess Marie Therese – Amy Brown

Amy is a native of Woodville and has lived in Natchez for the past 11 years. She graduated from Co-Lin Natchez with an associate in applied science degree in the respiratory care technology program in 2007. She is employed at Field Health System in Centreville as a registered respiratory therapist, where she has worked since November 2007.

She is married to James Brown, Duke of Versailles XXXVI.  They have two beautiful children, James and Julia. They are members of St. Mary Basilica. Amy is the daughter of Paul and Hope Thimmesch of Woodville.

Amy is an active member of the Natchez Garden Club and the Fort Adams Women’s Club. She enjoys spending her downtime with family and friends and taking part in all that life in Natchez has to offer!

Duke Monfort Brown – Jim Ball

Jim was born in Port Gibson and raised in Woodville. He received an engineering degree from Mississippi State University and has worked in industrial engineering and maintenance for more than 27 years.  Jim started his career in Natchez at Fidelity Tire but left town when the plant closed in 1997. His career has taken him all over the world, including Trindad, Taiwan, China and South America.

Jim returned to Natchez in 2012 and is the maintenance and engineering manager for vonDrehle Corp of North Carolina. Jim and his wife, Donna, met when they were just 18. They are members of First Presbyterian Church and volunteer for Natchez Stewpot, Natchez-Adams Humane Society, The Great Mississippi Balloon Race and Natchez Music Festival.

In his free time, Jim enjoys traveling, hunting, biking, kayaking and spending “shop time” with his son, Ian. He is currently restoring a 1971 Bronco, that his wife affectionately nicknamed “The Hussy!”

Duchess Panmure – Dana McGivaren

Dana and her husband Chris were born and raised in Natchez. They moved away in 1993 but have remained involved with Natchez and have made many trips to visit family and friends.

They were high school sweethearts and have been married for 34 years. They reside in Gonzales, Louisiana.

Dana and Chris have two children, Peyton and Rachel. She loves being a grandmother to their grandson, Huxley.

She is the president of Magnolia Service Group and CDM Family Enterprises, a member of Divine Dixie Divas and CCA of Louisiana. She enjoys traveling, crafting, gardening and going to music festivals.

Duke Manuel Gayosa De Lemos – John Branton

John E. Branton, a 12th-generation farmer, has a passion for faith, family, farming and conservation. He is the owner and managing partner of Frogmore Farming, LP, a minimum till cotton and grain operation. After living away for years, John and his wife, Robin, experienced a calling to return to his hometown to re-establish and expand the family farm. John appreciates the value of conservation and strives to be a good steward of the land for his generations to follow.

John is active in several organizations including the National Cotton Council, World Market, and Cotton, Inc. Aside from managing the family farm, John is retired from The Dow Chemical Company and has since taken a role as the Global Reliability and Maintenance Consultant for DuPont Nutrition and Biosciences. In John’s passion for serving his community, he is an active member of the Rotary Club in Ferriday. He enjoys coaching youth sports and supporting local and state politics and the arts. He served on the Board of Administrators for the Garden District in Baton Rouge, with efforts to maintain and preserve the historical value of the area.

John and Robin, a co-owner of Frogmore Farms, LP and an English teacher at Cathedral School have five children. They are parishioners of St. Mary Basilica in Natchez.  In his spare time, John enjoys traveling and experiencing the outdoors with his family.

Duchess Marguerite Theresa De Lemos – Mary Catherine Wilkerson

Mary Catherine Wilkerson is a native of Monroe, Louisiana. She moved to Natchez in 2001 at an early age and attended Cathedral School.  Mary Catherine graduated from Trinity Episcopal Day School with the Class of 2011.  After graduation Mary Catherine attended the University of Louisiana Monroe.  She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, served as the vice president of New Member Education and was also a member of the ULM Panhellenic Council as vice president of communications.

Mary Catherine received her undergraduate degree from ULM in 2016.  She teaches middle school science at Cathedral School, acts as the middle school cheer coach and sponsor and assists with the Science Olympiad team. Her hobbies include spending time with her family, traveling and hanging out with her dogs, Otis and Pepper.  Mary Catherine attends First Baptist Church Natchez and is a member of the Krewe of Phoenix.  She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Billy (Rex XXXIII) Ulmer of Natchez, and Mr. and Mrs. Reagan Wilkerson of Mangham, Louisiana.

Duke of Monmouth – Chris Hinson

Chris Hinson and his wife Lee Hinson were both born and raised in Natchez.  Chris is the son of James Allen and Johnnie Ann Hinson. Chris graduated South Natchez High School in 1982 and after attending junior college, returned to Natchez.  On Chris’s return home he joined the Natchez Fire Department and upon leaving had earned the rank of Lieutenant. Chris has now been in sales for over 30 years.  He has currently been an outside sales rep with Corr-Williams for 25 years.

Chris and Lee have four children, son Murphy Hinson and wife Caroline, daughter Mandy Dinsmore and husband Taylor,  and daughters Briana Mophett and Mallory Hinson.  They also have four grandchildren, Ella Murphy, Holt, Ridge and Charli Tayt.

Chris is an avid football fan with years of coaching in AYA football, junior high football, and was on two state championship teams with South Natchez in 1981 and 1982 under the late head coach Ed Reed.  Along with football Chris also coached in Dixie Youth baseball and Natchez Girl Softball while serving on the board.  Chris also coached soccer and assisted in junior high girls’ basketball. Chris’s passions when not working or spending time with his grandchildren include watching Mississippi State football, baseball and basketball along with gun and bow hunting and enjoys spending time on the water fishing.

Duchess Eliza Lowe Little – Allie Winston

Allie is from Ferriday and a graduate of Trinity Episcopal Day School in Natchez. She recently moved to Vidalia with her husband, Jake. She is the daughter of Judge and Mrs. Leo Boothe of Ferriday.

She graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Business Administration. She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. Allie is an active member in the Pilgrimage Garden Club and the William Dunbar Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Natchez. She enjoys shopping, singing, traveling, and taking care of her standard poodle “C.C.”

Duke Jefferson Davis – John Grady Burns

John Grady is a Natchez native, attended Cathedral School and is a graduate of Mississippi State

University with a bachelor of science in retail floral management.

After almost 40 years away he decided to return home and open Nest, a small shop downtown specializing in plants, gifts, home décor and flowers for special occasions and events.

He is grateful to be back home with family and friends as well as to be back in the great city high on the bluffs above the Mighty River.

Duchess Varina Howell Davis – Tracy McCartney

Tracy was born and raised in LaSalle Parish, Louisiana and has retired from the court system after 25 years of employment. She still maintains her notary commission, but currently does mostly civic and charitable work. She is a member and past president of Busy Bees Garden Club in Jena and also a member of the Pilgrimage Garden Club in Natchez. She serves as a docent for Pleasant Hill during Spring and Fall Pilgrimages. She serves on the floral committee for Longwood and also is chairman of the Grounds Committee for Stanton Hall. Tracy is a Master Gardener and enjoys all aspects of gardening. She is a member of “Acting Up” Community Theatre and has performed in: Always Patsy, Greater Tuna, Tuna Christmas, Wrong Window, Tuna Does Vegas, Broadway Goes Country, Plaza Suite, This is America musical, Broadway Gold musical, Red, White and Tuna, Steel Magnolias and Cemetery Club. Tracy also enjoys music and is a member of the Natchez Musical Arts League. She has sung in various choirs and played in Grace Notes Bell Choir.

She is married to Bo McCartney and has one daughter and two stepsons. She also has three grandchildren, Dreyton, Linden and Everleigh. Bo and Tracy live in Jena, Louisiana, and also have a condo in Natchez, where they enjoy spending time.
