Funeral services for Jimmie Sue Rollins Barnett will be held at Comer Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020, at 2 p.m., and family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m., under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.

Jimmie Sue Rollins Barnett, 84, of Ridgecrest, La., was born on Oct. 23, 1935, in Roxie, and passed away in New Orleans on Jan. 9, 2020. She was a wonderful homemaker, seamstress, cook and baker.

She is survived by two children, Tom Barnett and Carla Hood, her daughter-in-law and son-in-law, Michelle Lejeune Barnett and Mark Hood, her four grandchildren, David Marcus Hood and his wife Roxie, David Keith Barnett, Rachel Barnett, and Rebecca Barnett, and two great grandchildren, Harper and Joseph Hood, and her siblings, Dempsey, JoAnne and Linda.

She is predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Richard Dewitt Barnett, and her son, David Keith Barnett, parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Rollins and several siblings.

She has left a void that cannot be replaced in our hearts, but we know she is in a better place today than she was yesterday and that her husband is glad to see his “old gal.”
