NATCHEZ— Services for Margie May Brown, 88, of Natchez who died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019, at River Bridge Specialty Hospital, will be 11 a.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Chapel withtheRev.TalmadgeSmith officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Brown was born Aug. 13,1931, in Lincoln County, the daughter of Isaac Stanley May and Betty Dickerson May.
She was a member of First Baptist Church inNatchez. Mrs. Brown retired at the age of 82 from Immanuel Baptist Church. ShebeganhercareeratImmanuelBaptistChurchin1965,where she worked as church secretary for a number of years. She went onto become church secretary at Morgantown Baptist Church, ending her career back at Immanuel BaptistChurch.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert L Brown; one brother, Claude Edwin May; and son-in-law, John A. Rogers.
Survivors include a loving daughter, Pat Hale and husband, Bubba; one grandson, Robert Cory Rogers and wife, Amanda; one granddaughter, Jill Rogers Smith and husband, Brent; and three great-grandchildren, John Benjamin Rogers, Ellie Elizabeth Rogers and Madelyn Grace Smith.
Pallbearers will be Cory Rogers, Brent Smith, Tim Swaggart,Maxie Brown, Alan Lipscomb and Kevin Whittington.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to First Baptist Church, Morgantown Baptist Church or Immanuel BaptistChurch.
