The Ferriday High School Trojans have done what no other Ferriday High School football team has been able to do in the past 35 years — make it to the state championship game.
Today at 3:30 p.m. the No. 1-seeded Trojans will take on the No. 2-seeded Many High School Tigers at the Superdome in New Orleans to vie for the Class 2A state championship title.
The Trojans go into today’s game 13-1, which is an incredible achievement for any team.
The Trojans also have been dominant this season, going undefeated in District 3.
Today, their foes have a pretty impressive 11-3 record as well.
Regardless of the outcome of today’s game, the Trojans are the first Ferriday High School team to play for the title since 1984, when the Trojans lost the title game.
This year, the Trojans have inspired the residents of not only Ferriday, but also residents of the entire Miss-Lou.
We commend the Trojans on their incredible season and wish them luck in today’s game.
Regardless of the outcome, they are winners in our book.
Go, Trojans!
