Friday Prep Football and Basketball: Ferriday’s big game today

Ferriday High School Trojans play in the Louisiana High School Athletics Association Class 2A state championship game at 3:30 p.m. today inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. The No. 1 seed Trojans (13-1) face the No. 2 seed (11-3) Many High School Tigers in the Louisiana High School Athletics Association Class 2A state championship game.
The Game of The Week is Ferriday High School vs. Many High School.
Today is the Trojans return to the Class 2A state championship game since 1984. In the 1984 season, John Curtis Christian High School Patriots won 24-7 over the Trojans.
The Trojans have made the playoffs 41 times in school history. Ferriday has finished as runners-up three times (1944, 1962 and 1984) and have won the state championship four times (1953-56).
Prep Basketball
Besides Ferriday High playing in the Class 2A state championship game, there are seven prep basketball games.
Natchez at Jefferson County
What’s at stake: The Natchez Bulldogs face the Jefferson County Tigers for the second time this season. In the first matchup on Nov. 22, the Bulldogs won 48-15.

ACCS vs. Copiah Academy
What’s at stake: Fresh off a 62 to 35 win over Centreville Academy on Monday, the Adams County Christian School Rebels look to win another game against Copiah Academy. In the game on Monday, Josh Credit led the Rebels with 17 points.

Vidalia vs. Sicily Island
What’s at stake: The last time Vidalia High and Sicily Island squared off was on Dec. 7 where the Vikings won 63-53 over the Tigers.

Delta Charter vs. Epps
What’s at stake: The Delta Charter Storm pulled off a 58-49 victory over Block High School on Dec. 7.
Tip off is at 7 p.m. against Epps High School at Delta Charter.
WCCA vs. Woodlawn Preparatory School
What’s at stake: The Wilkinson County Christian Academy Rams are 6-0 at home this season. The Woodlawn Preparatory School Wolfpack are 0-2 to start the season.

Wilkinson County at Amite County
What’s at stake: Wilkinson County High School Wildcats faces the Amite High Magnet School Trojans for the second time this season. The first time the Trojans won 53-42 over the Wildcats.
Tip off is at 7 p.m. today at Amite High Magnet School.
Block vs. Family Community Christian School
What’s at stake: Block High School Bears look to bounce back after a 58-49 loss to Delta Charter Storm on Tuesday. Family Community Christian School tries to win their first game of the season. They started the season 0-8.
