FERRIDAY— Services for Archie H. Johnson, 64, of Ridgecrest, who died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019, at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Baptist Church on Lake St. John in Ferriday, with the Rev. Ronald Gardner officiating.
Burial will follow beside his mother, Mary Finley Johnson, at New Mount Zion Baptist Church in Wildsville, Louisiana, under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Johnson was born Feb. 23, 1955, in Natchez, the son of the Rev. Charles Johnson Jr. and Mary Finley Johnson.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of St. Mary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Charlie L. Johnson; and a number of siblings.
Survivors include one son, Gerrick Ware of Woodville; one brother, the Rev. Johnny Johnson; two sisters, Mary Davis and husband, Wendell, and Julia J. Gage of Baton Rouge; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
