Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, it is time to turn our attention to Christmas.

No doubt many people will begin their Christmas shopping today, checking their lists and checking them twice.

Spending money at home helps keep the local economy healthy.

If a local merchant does not have an item you’re looking for, ask if they can order it.

Chances are they can and will give you a good deal.

Keeping as much of our Christmas dollars at home as possible will ensure that stores are able to continue to keep their doors open into the new year, employing local people who will in turn spend more money in the local economy.

As tempting as online shopping is, try to resist as much as possible.

Also, don’t shop out of town for things you could easily purchase here at home.
