Thanksgiving a time to rejoice and praise God

Published 12:01 am Wednesday, November 27, 2019

Again, happy Thanksgiving to all. It is my great hope that this beautiful Thanksgiving, like so many others in the past, we give sincere thanks to our Heavenly Father for the bounty blessings in our lives.

Blessings after blessings keep on coming our way over and over again.

Thanksgiving, giving thanks — is a time of rejoicing. Thanksgiving expresses an attitude. It is a day set aside to offer thanks and praise to God for His many blessings.

The Biblical attitude of Thanksgiving is best expressed by the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 5:20, “giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ …”

The Thanksgiving attitude is a true praise to God for all His bounty blessings. “Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving … for the Lord is the great God” Psalm 95:2-9.

He is the God of the universe. So, as we continue to give thanks to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ every day, all through the day, being thankful.

As I write this article, my mind is on the abundance of food and fellowship with family, friends, loved ones and just people in general. So, as we enjoy the fellowship with each other, let’s never forget about the less fortunate and keep reaching out helping hands to help someone along life’s way.

So, as we sit around the table and enjoy the feast that God made a way out of no way for us to have blessings let us not forget others who don’t have it.

Remember, when we reach out a helping hand and help someone else, God is thankful that His children help each other.

To God be the glory.
