FERRIDAY— Services for Fay Dell Gallender, 89, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019, in Ball, Louisiana, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Young’s Funeral Home Ferriday Chapel with Don Tate officiating.
Burial will follow at Calhoun Cemetery in Clayton under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Fay Dell Gallender was born Aug. 15, 1930, in Strong, Arkansas, the daughter of James Crawford Chandler and Callie Halsey Chandler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oliver Gallender; five brothers, Douglas, Chester, Glendon and Billie Chandler; and three sisters, Viola Tipton, Velma Coates and Mayme Nora Dean.
Survivors include one son, Gerald Waldon and wife, Alice, of Ball; two daughters, Linda Simpson and husband, Jerry, of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Ava Sikes and husband, Randy, of O’Fallan, Missouri; three grandsons, Heth Danzy, David Sikes and Shane Waldon; five granddaughters, Daphne Danzy, Teresa Melton, Rhonda Reed, Rachel Ferguson and Jessica Sikes; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Barry Chandler, David Sikes, Cameron Sikes, Andy Anders, Jim Boren and Ray Coats.
