JONESVILLE — Services for Peggy Joyce Knapp, 73, of Vidalia, who died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. Sunday at First Pentecostal Church of Jonesville with Bishop Jack Knapp and the Rev. Bruce Lofton officiating.
Burial will follow at Knapp Family Cemetery in Deville, Louisiana, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Peggy Joyce Knapp was born Aug. 20, 1946, in Wisner, Louisiana.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, making crafts and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Vidalia and Ferriday after 36 years.
She was preceded in death by her father who passed away when she was 12 years old, Thompson McMurray; parents, Orell Smith and GB Smith; and one brother, Buddy McMurray.
Survivors include her husband, Max Knapp Sr.; four sons, Bobby “Joey” Kerrigan Jr. and wife, Diane, Brad Kerrigan and wife, Angel, Max Knapp Jr. and wife, Jessica, and Tim Kerrigan; five daughters, Brenda Knapp, Darlene Blackledge and husband, Jimmy, Pamela Parker husband, Wayne, Rhonda Garner and husband, Michael, and Sarah Brannon and husband, Carl; 23 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Shelby Kenney, Steve Kenney, Donney Addy Jr., Michael Garner, Wayne Parker and Jimmy Blackledge.
