NATCHEZ– Graveside services for Charlie R. Rasco Sr., 78, who died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019, at Adams County Nursing Center, will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Natchez National Cemetery with the Rev. Linda Fox officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mr. Rasco was born Nov. 11, 1940, in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Rasco.
Mr. Rasco joined the U.S. Air Force as a young man and served his country for more than 20 years, having been stationed in New Mexico, Texas, Washington, Florida, Alaska, Korea, Okinawa and Vietnam. He was trained in the Air Force as an air traffic controller and to love his country and his profession.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 53 years, Jeanne W. Rasco; two sisters; and one brother.
He is survived by two sons, Gryf A. Rasco of Anchorage, Alaska, and Charlie Ray Rasco Jr. and wife, Brenda, of Natchez; two grandchildren, Christopher R. Rasco and wife, Sonni, of Ferriday, and Emily Rasco of Natchez; two great-grandsons, Rhett and John Reed Rasco of Ferriday; two sisters-in-law, Jackie W. Wade and husband, Buddy, of Natchez, and Rebecca Ledbetter of Franklin, Tennessee; and three special nieces.
