NATCHEZ – Memorial services for Karen Martin Nix, 55, of Natchez, who died Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, will be 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church Natchez with the Rev. Dr. Doug Broome officiating.
Local arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mrs. Nix was born Feb. 9, 1964, in Natchez, the daughter of Huey P. Martin and Linda Lou Pylant Martin.
Mrs. Nix was a hairstylist at the Mane Event Salon. In high school, she was a member of the South Natchez High School Colonel’s Ladies drill team.  She was a member of the Mardi Gras Crew, the Dixie Divas. She was also a member of First Baptist Church in Natchez.
Survivors include her husband, Jayson Nix; one daughter, Laura Katherine Nix and significant other, Dylan Sandidge, of Hattiesburg; one son, John Parker Nix and significant other, Taylor Brooke Yates, of Hattiesburg; her parents of Natchez; mother-in-law, Audrey Ruth Nix, of Natchez; two sisters-in-law, Teri Nix Halstead and Amy Nix Murray; and special friends at Mane Event Salon.
Memorials may be made to The Natchez-Adams County Humane Society.
