NATCHEZ— Services for James Edward “Bill” Blaney, 74, of Vidalia, who died Friday, Nov. 1, 2019, in Ferriday, will be 1 p.m. Monday at Abundant Life Church in Natchez, with the Rev. John Collard officiating.
Burial will follow at New Pine Hill Cemetery in Sicily Island, Louisiana, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from noon until service time Monday at the church.
James Edward “Bill” Blaney was born on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 1945, in Ferriday, the son of Wesley Blaney and Opal Metcalf Blaney.
Bill was a native of Cash Bayou and a member of Abundant Life Church. He will be missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, James Edward Blaney Brixey and two brothers, Kenneth Blaney and Gerald Blaney.
Survivors include Linda Mae Blaney; three daughters, Rebecca Faye Garner and husband, Gary, of Baton Rouge, Wendy Lee Blaney and Dora Emfinger and husband, David, all of Vidalia; one son, Jaime Huff and Amy Hedricks of Coushatta, Louisiana; 13 grandchildren, Andy Blaney, Cindy Brixey Randy Brixey, Kristina Lee, Shannon Owens, Justin Emfinger, Celeste Emfinger, Reagan Huff, Gavin Huff, Mia Huff and Ella Rose Huff; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles D. Blaney of Natchez and Ronnie Blaney of Vidalia; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Justin Emfinger, Randy Brixey, Kippy Blaney, Boo Blaney, Kenny Blaney and William Rinehart.
