Prep Football Preview: Playoff Time in Natchez

The playoffs have started tonight for three of the 11 teams in the Miss-Lou.
The Game of the Week is Cathedral Green Wave vs. Winston Academy Patriots in the first round of the MidSouth Association of Independent Schools Class 4A playoffs.
For the Green Wave senior class, this is their fourth season in the postseason. J.T. Taylor, the quarterback for the Green Wave, said the playoffs should be fun.
“The regular season was up and down,” Taylor said. “We know who we are now. The playoffs are going to be a new season.”
In the first round of the playoffs, the Green Wave are 10-13 against Class 4A opponents.
Cathedral will host Winston Academy Patriots on Friday. Cathedral has never faced Winston Academy before. The kickoff is set for 7 tonight at D’Evereaux Stadium at Cathedral High School.
ACCS vs. St. Aloysius
What’s at stake: Adams County Christian School Rebels host he St. Aloysius of Vicksburg Flashes in the first round of the MAIS Class 5A playoffs. The Rebels are 7-6 overall in the first round of playoffs while the Flashes are 6-8 in the first round of playoffs. The game is set to start at 7 p.m. tonight at Adams County Christian School.
Ferriday vs. Delhi Charter
What’s at stake: Ferriday High Trojans are trying to preserve a perfect home record at Melz Field for two straight seasons. Today is also Ferriday High’s homecoming. The game is set to start at 7 p.m. tonight at Ferriday High.
Natchez High at Brookhaven
What’s at stake: The Natchez High Bulldogs need to win one more to obtain a spot in the Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 5A playoffs on Nov. 15.
The game starts at 7 p.m. tonight at Brookhaven High School.
Vidalia vs. Mangham
What’s at stake: Vidalia High Vikings host the Mangham High Dragons in this Louisiana High School Athletics Association District 2-Class 2A game. With a win, the Vikings will be on a two-game winning streak. The game starts at 7 p.m. tonight at Vidalia High.
Delta Charter vs. Cedar Creek
What’s at stake: The Cedar Creek Cougars are tied for second with a record of 4-1 in the LHSAA District 2-Class 1A standings. Meanwhile, the Delta Charter Storm are tied for fourth place at 3-2 with St. Frederick. The game starts at 7 p.m. tonight at Delta Charter.
Centreville Academy at Greenville Christian
What’s at stake: The Centreville Academy Tigers travel to Greenville Christian High Saints for the first round of the MAIS Class 3A playoffs. During the playoffs, the Tigers are 23-8 while the Saints are 2-9. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. tonight at Greenville Christian High School.
The rest of the games start at 7 p.m.
