Zion Chapel AME Church dedicated a computer lab on Wednesday that will be a great service not only to members of the church but also to people in the community who need access to computers and printers.
The project, more than a year in the making, was created through the efforts of volunteers using mostly donated items and a lot of ingenuity to keep costs down.
The lab features 14-networked computers and a laser printer.
The Rev. Birdon Mitchell said the lab will be instrumental to the church’s ministry in tutoring students who need help with certain subjects and in acquiring their GEDs.
Also, the computer lab will be open by appointment to people who need access to computers and the internet.
Our hats are off to the volunteers, led by Roy King III, for their dedication and service to the community in donating their time and efforts to making the project a reality.
Also, our hats are off to Mitchell and members of Zion Chapel AME for creating such a great ministry for the community.
