We would like to invite the entire community to join us this weekend at Cathedral School for one of the longest-running festivals in the South. On Sept. 28 and 29, you are invited to help us celebrate the 2019 Cathedral Fall Festival.

Our annual tradition continues this year, with Midway Games on Saturday and Sunday, Adult Night festivities Saturday night and Mass held on Cathedral School’s campus, delicious fried chicken lunch and Bingo on Sunday.

We have many new and exciting things this year. On Saturday, from 10 am to 2 pm and Sunday, from 11 am to 2 p.m., bring the whole family to enjoy Midway games including a petting zoo, cakewalk, obstacle course, face painting, basketball, including a chance to win the goal and more.

Our concession stand will feature Johnny’s Pizza, our traditional juicy burgers and other delicious food.  A tailgate and beverage tent will be available to watch the game. Inside the multipurpose room, we have festival sales, where you can buy casseroles, scratch cakes, arts and crafts, used books and homemade candy.

We have raffle tickets for chances to win $3,000 cash, an Apple iPad, an Apple Watch, a Ring DoorBell, Beats Headphones, a flat-screen TV, a basket of cheer, $500 gas, a TG McCary portrait session and a set of Vera Bradley luggage. In addition, the elementary grades each have a class basket on display for silent auction bidding. Raffles and bids close at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Saturday night, join us in the cafeteria at 6 p.m. for a delicious dinner featuring The Camp, Roux 61 and BB’s Grill and beverages from Fat Mama’s Tamales, McDonough’s Wine and Spirits and Southwest Distributors. Live music by Drew and Bubba is from 6 to 7 p.m. To-go meals can be picked up between 5:30 and 6 p.m.

The Paddle Wheel hosted by emcee, Barry Maxwell, starts at 7 p.m. Saturday. We have wonderful prizes donated from our generous Miss-Lou businesses and individuals. This year we are happy to announce some great trips, a hunting package, furniture, works by local artists and much more. Be sure to visit the wine wall and purchase $1 “Mini-Paddle” raffles to win some great prizes.

Please visit Cathedral’s website www.cathedralgreenwave.com or Cathedral’s Fall Festival Facebook page to see a full list of packages and instructions on how to purchase Pre-Sold Paddles, which enters you once into each paddle offered at a discounted rate as well as a chance to win $500 cash. You do not have to be present to win.

The festival continues on Sunday, beginning with Mass at 10 a.m. held on Cathedral School campus. The Midway games, concessions and festival sales continue from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. We will be serving a delicious fried chicken lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and you will want to stay for the ever-popular Bingo in the cafeteria from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. We have new Bingo prizes this year, including a kids Fitbit, gift cards, and a TV for the black out game. Ice Cream Cake from Dairy Queen will be available at Bingo!

The festivities will continue the weekend of Nov. 22-24 for the Fall Festival Tennis Tournament at Duncan Park. To register for the 18 and older division as well as the adult/junior division or for more information, contact Tate Hobdy at bthobdy@gmail.com or Dallas Morris at dallas@misloudental.com.

Scott McLemore and I, along with our co-chairmen Sarah and Aaron Smith, thank all of you who have given so generously of your time and contributions to this annual event in support of Cathedral School’s mission of excellence in education. On behalf of Cathedral School, we invite the entire community to come out, enjoy, and discover what the Cathedral family has to offer.
