On Sept. 28th the 2019 “Natchez Biscuit Festival” will take place on Main Street between Pearl and Wall streets from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.

We will have biscuits for sale from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. (2 tickets for $6 ) and biscuits and specialty biscuit sandwiches will be 1 or 2 tickets. All local restaurants are invited to come show off their breakfast biscuits with creative toppings.

There is an added bonus during Natchez Biscuit Fest, thanks to our sponsor Magnolia Bluff Casino & Hotel we have hit country music songwriters Hailey Steele and Travis Howard (Google them — you will be impressed!). They will be at Smoot’s Grocery on Saturday at 8 p.m. with a $20 cover (you should pre-purchase tickets because this will be a sell out!).

Our hopes are each year along with continuing to hold our place as Biscuit Capital of the World, we will bring in more talented songwriters and have them in all of our music venues, singing their original songs and sharing the stories behind them.

As you all know Natchez is the “Biscuit Capital of the World” and this is a great way to honor all of our great biscuit makers in Natchez. You don’t have to be a professional chef. We have five categories for the biscuit cook off. To enter stop by Regina’s Kitchen at 312 Main Street and sign up. It’s that easy!

48-9:30 a.m. — Breakfast & Biscuits

49:30 a.m. Biscuit Eating Contest — first 10 to sign up get to participate, the person who eats the most in 5 minutes wins $200 in gift certificates!

410 a.m. Home Cook — breakfast biscuit, Home Cook — most creative biscuit

410:30 a.m. Children’s Category — best overall biscuit

410:45 a.m. Chef’s Division — best breakfast biscuit Chefs Division — most creative biscuit

411 a.m. All winners will be announced and there will be a drawing for tickets for the concert that night.

All biscuits must be homemade.

All entries must have your name, address, phone and email.

Youth division items must be made primarily by the youth. Parents may help as needed but this is specifically a youth project.

Please be sure to have all items at the judges’ table on time. Late entries will not be accepted.

No mixes allowed. The item must be fully baked and ready to serve.

Submit one dozen of the baked item for judging.

Participants must be present during a question/answer session with the judges.
