Natchez, Inc., the economic development organization for Natchez, Adams County and Vidalia began 10 years ago after the county hired a consulting firm to help the county create an economic development strategy.

The result of the effort was the foundation of Natchez, Inc., a public and private effort supported by a funding organization of private business leaders.

Since then the organization has made many strides in maintaining, recruiting and growing industry in Adams County.

While most area leaders agree Adams County’s economic development situation could be better, most also agree the county’s economy is better off than it might be if it were not for the efforts of Natchez, Inc.

So, as Natchez, Inc. celebrates its 10-year anniversary, it is fitting the organization is working with another consulting firm to reassess the organization’s strategy for economic development going forward.

Natchez, Inc. has hired VisionFirst Advisors to conduct interviews with local stakeholders to come up with a strategy to meet the community’s expectations for economic development success going forward.
