NATCHEZ— Services for Sampson Quinn, 74, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, at Promise Hospital will be noon Saturday at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. George Quinn officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Quinn was born Sept. 17, 1944, in Natchez, the son of Cicero Quinn Sr. and Geneva Isaac Quinn.
He was educated in the Natchez public schools and was a retired logger and taxi driver. Sampson enjoyed football, grilling, lawn care and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, George, Joseph, Elijah, Cicero Jr., and John; three sisters, Margree Williams, Mary Fitzgerald and Alvin Louise Howard.
Survivors include one son, Eric Fitzgerald; five daughters, Patricia Dottery and husband, Joseph, Nicole Young and husband, Jeff, Vel Bostick and husband, Vincent, Erica Thompson and husband, Jay, and Kemmie Young; one brother, Henry Quinn and wife, Audrey; one sister, Della Quinn; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
