DENHAM SPRINGS, Louisiana — Services for Fay Lynette Jackson, 63, of Vidalia since hurricane Katrina and a native of Denham Springs, Louisiana, who died Friday, Aug. 16, 2019, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Roberts United Methodist Church, 201 Julia St., in Denham Springs with the Rev. Eunice Chigmira officiating.
Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery in Denham Springs under the direction of MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home in Denham Springs.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Saturday at the church.
Fay was the daughter of David “Perk” Jackson and Annie Lockhart. After the early death of her mother, she was raised as a daughter by her maternal aunt, Vera Lockhart Baker.
She was a 1973 graduate of Lee High School in Baton Rouge and attended Howard University in Washington, D.C., and Spencer Business College in New Orleans.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her aunt who raised her; two brothers; three sisters; one uncle; three aunts; one sister-in-law; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The family extends thanks to everyone for any acts of kindness and support shown to Fay during her residency in Vidalia. We are stronger because we know you cared.
