Adams County Chief Deputy Wayne Rabb was a shining example of a public servant.

He also was a nice human being who always had a kind word or a word of encouragement for people he met.

Rabb not only represented the Adams County Sheriff’s Office well in his role as chief deputy for the past 16 years, but he also represented the community well.

In his spare time, Rabb was known to enjoy taking motorcycle trips across the country, spending time with his wife, Ann, and their children and working in his yard.

Rabb also was a supporter of Adams County Christian School and its athletic programs, and he was a devout Christian.

The community was fortunate to have benefited from Rabb’s public service and from his community efforts, and we are sorry to hear of his sudden death on Sunday after a reaction to a wasp sting.
