FERRIDAY — Services for Gayle Wilson Barron, 79, of Clayton, Louisiana, who died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019, in Alexandria, Louisiana, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Young’s Funeral Home’s Ferriday Chapel with Tommy Barron officiating.
Burial will follow at Big Creek Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Barron was born Dec. 18, 1939, in Pollock, Louisiana, the daughter of Wallace Wilson and Mamie Graves Wilson.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Gayle spent most of her time caring for others as registered nurse.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Eric Barron; and one sister, Margie Wilson Barron.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Charles Barron; three children, Susan Wanette Kirk, Vicki Page and husband, Sherman, and Eddie Barron and wife, Alicia; one brother, Wallace L. “Buddy” Wilson Jr. and wife, Mary Jane; seven grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her favorite companion, Peppy.
Pallbearers will be David King, Billy King Jr., Shan Price, Louis Barron, Carl Bates and George Barron Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Veron Husband, Donnie Arnett, Tommy Bingham, Joseph Page and Trey Page.
